Although nothing is certain, after the disappearance of Earhart many people were not satisfied with the fact that the plane could've crashed and not been found… so many have come up with there own theories about what really happened to Amelia on that July day… something that would stay a mystery for the next hundred years…
- Some say… Earhart and Noonan crashed near Howland island and drowned.
- Others say... they landed on Nikumaroro Island which would’ve been close to the coordinates last transmitted via radio.
- Another group says…. Amelia and Fred landed on the Marshall Islands which are controlled by Japanese and likely taken captive by the Japanese as American spies.
- A fourth opinion...theorizes that Earhart never planned on flying to Howard Island. In truth she and Noonan were American spies and on a mission to scout out the goings-on of Japanese island installations for the US government, when they were spotted and either shot down, or forced to land.
- Joe Klass wouldn’t settle on a tragic ending so he hypothesied that...not only did Earhart survive her Pacific Ocean plane crash, but that she was taken by the Japanese, found and rescued by US forces, and then secretly relocated to New Jersey, where she needed to “lay low” so assumed the identity of Irene Bolam, a housewife.
The only problem with Klass’s theory was that Irene Bolam already existed. When she got wind of this news, she filed a lawsuit denying the accusation.
recently a photo has been found and some say that spotted in the back is Earhart and Noonan
